Models and Actors advice to further your career from Craze Agency

When we get complaints from hiring clients or if a talent does not perform well it's usually because they have not practiced or read this information.
1-Please do not go out or submit for on an audition unless we have approved your headshot, portfolio and resume that you will be using.

2-Before going to a job or audition please make 100% sure you know the address and directions. If at all possible go the day before or very early. You cannot be late or panicky. We often get calls when we are not open or last minute calls of talent forgetting the address or lost and usually it is too late to help! First impressions are so very important in this industry.

3-When you are auditioning in front of a camera and are asked to slate , wait for them to say slate or action or camera rolling then look directly into the camera and say “Hello my name is (first and last name) ____________________.
(Please do not rush it, sound confidant and give them a sincere smile). If you would like to (but not mandatory) you can also say I am represented by the Craze Agency and I am auditioning for the role of (example) Mary. If you are under 18 say your age.
(If they ask you any questions on camera just listen to them and answer them confidently). After you have slated you then read your scene to the reader NOT THE CAMERA! (If you are not 100% sure of yourself please attend a class the next time Craze President Troy Lee is offering them, I guarantee you it will help immensely).
4- When you are booked for any job, write down the director, producer, casting director, TV Network etc. You need this information for your resume. Talent will often call Craze a few months after the project and seek the info. It is hard for us to remember every detail because we literally book thousands of different jobs. Remember name of the part or character you played. (If it was extra work you must put that in a separate Extra category not acting). Always update your resume the day you do the project and get us copies. You would not believe the amount of work people lose out on because their resumes are not updated or we do not have any and they are not updated on our database.

This also applies to getting copies or tearsheets from clients for your own personal portfolio. Again talent will often call Craze a few months after the project asking for a copy. Often times clients will move on to their next project as well as Craze. We are constantly working to get you new and exciting opportunities.

5- To insure payment when you are booked on jobs that are SAG film projects, please remember to bring appropriate ID and fill out all forms legibly and correctly. Keep a copy. Also keep track of the dates you work the name of the client and what the job was just in case.
If it is not a SAG project Craze agency will generally bill the client and we will contact you when they have paid.

6- Keep your look close to the agency approved photos we use to promote you or you must update the photos. Clients really get upset when you do not match your photo or if we send you out to meet them and you have gained or lost weight, have longer hair or a different color of hair, etc. We could lose that client permanently. The reason you have photos is so they know exactly what you look like. This is why we refer you to photographers that understand this. Don't think you can just get by, because a legitimate agency cannot promote you without the correct photos. Also do not use a different photo than we suggest because you like it better. We know what is appropriate for you, this is our job. Some actors have seen other actors with different agencies use photocopies or poor quality headshots and say to us “they were able to get the audition with a photocopy so why is it a big deal”. The reason it is a big deal is because chances are that photo will go directly into the client’s garbage can and that person will be thought of as an amateur. Also, that talent and or agency does not realize they have probably missed out on numerous auditions because in this business first impression is everything!

7- Never ever say a negative word among fellow actors or models or clients! Even about other agencies. It never helps you or us in the long run! Let's all take the high road even though many people and agencies don't. It is better to not say anything unless it is positive. It always catches up with people. Sometimes it really is irritating to hear others bad mouth or say unsubstantiated comments about you, the clients or us, but those people usually burn enough bridges over time and end up out of the industry.

8- A successful Modeling and Acting career is like any other career, it takes time, persistence, dedication, knowledge, skill and patience! We work with almost every major client in our region. We do everything in our power to represent each and every one of you effectively. Sometimes there are not any opportunities that your look and skill level match, other times you will be too busy to do everything offered. Try to be well rounded, you will receive many more bookings. We do everything in our power to get you booked.

9- Many National Clients will take their sweet time to pay you and us, even when we bill them with a 30-60 day voucher. We hate it as bad as you do (we all have bills to pay). We will do everything in our power to collect but it has always been that way and will probably never change with the some of the big national companies and even some local companies. They know they get a lot of people work so if you harass them too much the client will just use someone else next time. Many times the specific client that pays you the talent, has to first bill one or two other clients for them to get paid, and many times each of those clients are on a 30-day voucher. Unfortunately it is the agency and talent that are paid last. It has always been that way. Trust us; you will be paid as soon as possible!!! If you cannot work under their system do not accept the job. Usually the Major Films do not take more than 30 days. Talent that threatens us will not be sent out again, because it is out of our control. Please remember we are not the ones paying you to do the job. We do promise to do everything we can to help; we all want to get paid for our efforts.

10- Do not accept an audition unless you are 100% sure you can make it and be on time. Usually we are limited in the time slots we have and we do not have time to replace you. We also give the casting director a list the night before. It is too hard the next day of the audition for us to schedule someone else with them. They just figure you are unreliable. We always hear back from them! If you do not show up on time to auditions we cannot represent you.

11- When we post castings with age ranges for example 19-24 years old that usually means the client wants a 22 year old. Only respond if you fit the profile closely. Do not respond with things like I am 29 or 16 but I look much younger or older. Sometimes we get talent that say things like I have been told I can play much younger or older. Sometimes this is may be true but trust our judgment, we know what you can play, we would be crazy not to send you if you fit the description and the client would allow us to do so. Some jobs have an 18 and up age category if it says that do not respond if you are less than 18 years of age. They will not hire you.

12-Remember if you are difficult or bothersome for us to work with we will definitely not send you to meet our clients. All it takes is one bad experience and we can lose a valuable client we have worked years to land.

13- No matter how you feel inside at the time of an audition, you must portray self-confidence when you are interviewed. Clients never hire people who let them know they are new at this or who are not a polished finished product. You just cannot have excuses if you expect to be successful at this.

14- Do not show it or be shocked if the audition is not what you visualized. It usually isn’t the way you think it is going to be. There is not one set way every client auditions! A pro expects it to always be different and is ready to make quick on the spot adjustments. The pro does not mind if it is a tough audition because they know the amateur will let it affect them. Half of success in this business is being very adaptable on the fly. That is why it often takes continual training and experience to book the larger higher paying projects. The more prepared you are the less likely things will throw you off.

15- Just have fun with this business. Clients love to be around smiling, funny, happy people. Many actors, models get too serious when they audition because they feel the pressure. It then shows up to the clients. You need to make the clients feel comfortable with you. Enjoy the journey; often it’s better than the final result!

16- If a client contacts you personally, asks you your rate or would like to book you say, “Call my agent at the Craze Agency”, or let Craze know and we will contact them and work out the deal.
That is our job and we will make sure to get documents signed if needed and get you the best rate possible for that type of project. We know what you are worth in the market! Usually the clients that do not want to initially go through agents or behind our backs will either never pay or low ball you or work in an unprofessional manner. Plus you are responsible to let the agency know about these projects anyway. If we hear about it though the grapevine we will stop prompting you. We are here to be your Acting, Modeling and Extra agent and will take care of you!

17-Try to read your Craze casting site at least twice a day if not more!!!!
Many projects are last minute or only a day's notice. Some are on a first come first serve basis. Become very familiar with computers almost everyone in our industry is going that way. Read the casting call carefully, we receive tons of calls and emails asking questions that are answered on the casting call. We let you know as much info. As we have on each call. Sometimes we receive emails from talent like this. "I have been receiving tons of castings but recently have not received any I fit, please find me work! This will not help us help you! We cannot create new jobs out of thin air. We are relentless in our pursuit of work because we want to make money too!! If we have not talked to you or emailed you anything that you fit be patient or occasionally remind us that you are willing and available. Also please only ask questions that are absolutely important. We receive 100’s of emails and want to spend our time finding and negotiating you work! Use common sense. Occasionally we get the comment that talent only wants us to send them audition notices that they fit. There are many reasons why we cannot do this (trust us; it is not feasible with our time constraints).
Just delete them.

18-When we give you advice it is based on our wisdom from well over 25 years of 9-10 hours per day working with tens of thousands of good and bad hiring clients and talents. We thoroughly understand what is needed for the local, national and international markets and your specific talents in those markets and the budgets that you and the clients have and the ability to maximize all of these things. For some reason some talent think they know more than we do and always do it the hard way. Or they will take the advice from a couple of people who work in only one of the 100's of areas we promote in. It never works and we both then become frustrated! Yes you should use your best-educated judgment in the final analysis but trust our expertise. I would never tell a doctor how to treat and diagnose me, or an airline pilot how to fly the plane. Let us do our job; it will pay off for you in the future!

19- We have your best interest in mind and appreciate your hard work, loyalty and referrals. We are going to continue to grow and are always trying our best to improve and serve you better. We believe we have the most efficient and organized system out there, and will continue to work hard to assist you. Sometimes we know some talent would like us to spend more time visiting or talking with them on the phone etc., we want to spend our time finding you jobs and then assisting and negotiating them successfully. We want a long lasting, positive relationship and hope for nothing but the best for you! We really appreciate the opportunity to represent you and take the job seriously.

Sincerely,
Troy Lee

Here are some important tips that can really help us to help you!

When booked for a job, often the talent stress out because they do not hear from the client or Craze until the night before on the details of the job. This happens a lot because in many situations they do not know exact times until they finish the previous days shooting.
Trust us, if they contact us we will let you know ASAP! Please make sure to keep your phone close and check your email. Please be patient and understand it is not that they are not organized but that things don't always go perfect because of so many variables they have to deal with.

This is just part of the business but if you are patient things usually work out.
Craze never wants there to be rescheduling or date conflicts but it is out of our hands when it comes to this area.

Do not call your Agent after each audition asking if you were hired or have received a call back. The Agent will immediately call or email you once we are notified if they want to book you.
Sometimes it can take a few days for the clients to book the talent sometimes many months so always keep your sides just in case. There are times when we are working on dozens of projects and waiting on hundreds of possible bookings. If we let every person know when they did not receive a part all we would have time for is contacting our talent and we would never find new jobs or be able to book the jobs we are doing at that time.

Many National and some local Clients take more than 30 days time to pay you, even when your agent bills them with a 30 day voucher.
We hate it as bad as you do, (we all have bills to pay). Often they have 2-4 clients they bill to get you paid (art directors, photographers, ad agencies, casting directors or the actual client), so it can take sometimes 60-90 days or more.

We will do everything in our power to collect, but it has always been that way and it will probably never change with the big national companies. Clients are aware they get a lot of people work so if you or Craze harasses them too much the client will just use someone else or another agency.

We want to get you your hard earned money and our success rate is over 98 Percent! Remember, we will email you the day the check clears so you can pick it up. Please don't bug us because it does no good, we have a great billing system and stay on top of all our invoices.

If a client asks you what your rate is, say, "call my agent" or you can call Craze and let us know and we will negotiate it for you and get legal contracts for you. That is our profession and we will make sure to get documents signed if needed and get you the best rate possible for that type of project in our market. Usually clients that do not want to initially go through agents and deal directly with the model or actor will either never pay or low ball you or work in a very unprofessional manner. If there budget is small we still know how to get the most money possible for you. Remember, you are responsible to let the agency know about these projects and pay your commissions. It does you or us no good letting us know after you have done the project!

Our goal is to help nurture, educate and establish you in our markets so that we both can have a fantastic long term relationship and continue to grow. Generally having a successful career in our business takes time, hard work and patience. We hope this helps you to understand the business a little better.

Thanks for your loyalty and hard work,
Craze Agency

Craze Agency: Models and Actors don't play the blame game!

Craze Agency: Models and Actors don't play the blame game!

Models and Actors don't play the blame game!

As an actor or model you will be dealing with many types of hiring clients such as Photographers, Casting Directors, Art Directors, Talent Agents, Talent Managers, Film Directors, Producers, Ad Agencies, and Networks etc.
Many models and actors feel that one or all of the above is preventing their success?
Constantly the Actor, Model or Entertainer deal with a lot of unknown factors such as; why don’t things happen quicker in my career? Who is slowing down my career? Why didn’t I get the role when I performed excellently? Why am I not going out on more auditions?
In order to for you to get to where you want to go ask yourself these questions.
1-Do I need to update my pictures/resume/reel.
2-Perhaps I should go to a casting director workshop to get one-on-one time with that casting director.
3- Maybe I should ask my agency for directions on what to do next. Have I recently auditioned for my agent?
4-Maybe I need to do something different about my technique and look at what various modeling and acting classes have to offer.
5- Maybe the old hairstyle or look I have is not working now.
6-Perhaps I should be marketing myself differently.
7-Maybe I need to realize that I do not look the same as I did at 18 as I do at now and apply for the age appropriate jobs.
8-Do I truly understand how the business works?
9-Am I staying involved and proactive or am I just sitting back and waiting for things to happen?

Instead of working on the things you can control many actors and models play the blame game.
Example: That Casting Director just doesn’t really like me or, that person is just racist/sexist/ageist and unwilling take a risk, or all the clients want are tall, skinny models etc.
It's natural that we sometimes make false assumptions; it protects us when we feel weak and unable to change, whether because of financial conditions or lack of motivation.

Over the years it seems the really successful talent will take a hard look at themselves first and try not to play the blame game very often.

So have some courage and look at some of the things you can change!

Here's how to be pro-active.

Reel- Commercials, Feature Films, Student Films, Independent Films, Webisodes, Runway shows. Get a get reel of your work made with a professional reel company. Get it reviewed by your agent and get it published.

Pictures-Have your agent advise you to keep the ones you have or to get more accurate updated or flattering pictures.
Resume-Keep it updated and give it to your agent.
Coaches-- Do you need referrals to acting coaches? Ask your Talent Agent, Manager and friendly Casting Directors. How often are you practicing? Your competition is probably daily.
Casting Director Workshops-You get one-on-one time with a casting director who can tell you straight whether you're terrific or need work. You will learn their particular style that they prefer when casting talent.

Test Shoots-Build your portfolio with professional test shoots from reputable photographers. Have your agent assist you in putting together your portfolio.

Craze Agency: Latest Craze Agency castings!

Craze Agency: Latest Craze Agency castings!

Actors Audition Checklist

Actors Checklist

1-Always bring a photo to the audition, a callback or you have met the client before. No exceptions!
2-Always bring a resume to the audition. No exceptions!
3-You must staple the resume back to back to your photo. Do not ever attend an audition without both your headshot and resume stapled back to back. One staple in each corner!
4-Always be 10-15 minutes early to your audition and make sure you have the correct address and directions to the audition. No exceptions or excuses!
5-Once at the audition look for a sign in sheet and make sure you clearly fill in the correct information if there is a sign in sheet.
6-Do not bother or ask the Casting director a lot of questions, research them before the audition.
7-If they are recording the audition they will ask you to slate. When they say “slate” look into the camera and smile and confidently say hello my name is (state your full name). They may also ask you to state the part you are playing and your agency. Do not tell them this information unless they ask for it!
8-When you are ready to perform your part find the mark or place they would like you to stand or sit (your option to stand or sit unless they specify).
9-When you start your performance only read to the person you are having the dialog with. Do not look at the camera or the casting director, client, etc. unless they are performing the scene with you.
10-Give as much eye contact as possible to the person you are reading with, even when they are reading their lines. Really listen to them and react naturally to what they say.
11-When you perform the scene; act as natural and believable as possible. You must come off as being very relaxed, comfortable and confident.
12-Really know the scene and characters inside and out. Prepare it over and over. Try to have the scene memorized, but make sure you know the lines and never break character!
13-The auditions are not practice sessions. The clients auditioning you expect you to know what you are doing and be a professional finished product. Get the training before you start attending auditions!
14-Often they will not have you do the scene more than once. If they do and they give you directions or changes really go overboard making the changes.
15-Have fun! Remember you are an entertainer. Clients do not want to hire or be around boring run of the mill talent.
16-If you receive a call back, try to look and perform the scene the same way.
17-Do not call you agent after each audition asking if you were hired or have received a call back. The agent will call you if they want to book you.
18-If you accept an audition you must attend!!!! No exceptions. If you are not 100% sure you can attend, do not accept the audition, we will understand. (We usually give the client an advanced time sheet on who exactly will be at the audition and what time they are scheduled). If you are not going to be available when the job if being completed do not accept the audition.
19-Do not get discourage if they did not hire you. Every client and situation is different. The biggest key to success in this business is patience and perseverance!!!!!
20-It is your career, so practice, practice, practice, because the competition is! If you need further assistance contact the Craze Agency 801-438-0067 or www.crazeagency.com

But Victor gets his comeuppance when Anna finally can no longer take his abuse.

IDAHO TALENT ONLY!

THERE WILL BE A SEPARATE AUDITION IN UTAH THE THIRD WEEK OF JUNE. WE WILL POST THOSE AUDITIONS SOON

Characters

VICTOR BELLOWS- Handsome, distinguished looking, wealthy, powerful, capable of charm and ruthless brutality, psychopathic beneath his cultured facade, Victor is a casino owner and high-level drug kingpin who owns an apparently vast empire. Married to Anna for fifteen years, Victor mentally and physically abuses his wife and keeps her a virtual prisoner, gloating over his power to keep her from any kind of happiness. Deftly wielding his power both domestically and with his new business associate, Giovanni Russo, Victor is confident that his employees are loyal since he keeps them in a state of active fear as well. However, he doesn't take into account Anna's own power, and winds up a victim of his own deadly game...LEAD Pay rate- $7,500 flat rate

MICHAEL- Is a younger guy (late 20's early 30's) that is working as a "strong arm" and in this case a trusted bodyguard for Victor. He's rough around the edges, comes off as sort of a 'thug" at first, but as we get to know him, he's smart and has a heart of gold. He also falls in love with Anna, of course, and you know the rest of the story. LEAD Pay rate is $5,000 flat rate

CHRISTINA- This beautiful young woman is an accomplished soldier who winds up working for the ruthless Victor as an assassin. Intelligent, confident, sensual, Christina connects with Anna, and the two women realize there's a definite sexual chemistry between them. Though she's ordered by Victor to spy on the unfaithful Anna and ultimately kill her, Christina is part of the clever, intricate plot to give Victor a taste of his own medicine...LEAD Pay rate is $3,900 flat rate

What hiring casting clients look for in actors and models!

With 25 years experience and as President of the Craze Modeling and Talent Agency booking 1000's of models and actors, here are some of the most important tips that hiring client's look for when booking talent for paid speaking roles or modeling assignments!

1- Polish- The talent must be polished and confident enough to do the job with little or no direction if needed.

2- Experience-Does your portfolio or resume show you have worked and trained successfully in the past?

3- First impression-Often they have to make a hiring decision within 30-60 seconds. If they cast you and they have not worked with you before they are taking an educated risk. A good impression is made by being early, prepared, looking like a professional and having amazing charisma!

4-Can you think quick on your feet? Sign of an experienced professional. Can you make the adjustments they ask for?

5-Are you worth the money they are paying? If the client is going to pay a rate of $400-$1500 a day, you must show them you are worth it. They have to account for every dollar spent.

6-Originality-When auditioning many models or actors it becomes hard to differentiate between each talent. You need to make a creative statement and lasting impression within the context of the project.

7-Be prepared to be uncomfortable. It is natural not to feel natural. (That is why it is important to constantly be practicing and training).

8-When you first get into the acting business, go to every audition that you fit the profile on regardless if it is a lower or non-paying project. This business is all about networking and exposure.

9-Ability takes time. Be patient with yourself and your agent.

10-You can spot an experienced Model or Actor a mile away. You cannot fake it!

11-Keep your sides after every acting audition, sometimes it can take weeks for the callbacks to occur.

12-Keep a journal and detailed notes on all of the auditions you attend. Track what happened, how you did, things that worked and things you need work on. Note how you adjusted to each audition, who you met with, etc.

13-When you book a job, always make a note on what the project was, what part you played and who the production company, casting director or client was. Update your resume and make copies for your agent and yourself. That may land you your next job.

14-Pay you agents commission ASAP, they really do notice who pays quickly and will send you out more often. After all it is a business.

15-Never get discouraged. That is why most Actors and Models fail!

Circle yourself with positive people who are also in the industry or support you in your passion.

16-Always aim to become the best Actor or Model in the entire world.
It takes that kind of mental approach and dedication to achieve results in this competitive

Always remember these tips and your chance of obtaining success will dramatically increase. The Craze Agency is here to help! If you would like more Information about us call 801-438-0067 or go to www.crazeagency.com

Key modeling and acting tips!

1- When you are booked for any job write down the director, producer, casting director, TV Network etc... You need this info. For your resume. Also remember the part you played. (If it was extra work you must put that in a separate Extra category not acting). Always update your resume the day you do the project. You would not believe the amount of work people lose out on because their resumes are not updated.

2- To insure payment when you are booked on a job, please remember to bring appropriate ID and fill out all forms legibly and correctly. Also keep track of the dates you work and what job it was just in case.

3- Keep your look close to the photos your agent uses to promote you, or you must update the photos. Clients really get upset when you do not match your photo or if we send you out to meet them and you have gained or lost weight, have longer hair or a different color we could lose that client permanently.

4- Never say a negative word on set. Even among fellow actors or models. Even about other agencies. It never helps you or us in the long run! Let's take the high road even though many people and agencies don't.

5- A successful Modeling and Acting career is like any other career it takes time, persistence, dedication, knowledge, skill and patience!

6- Many National Clients take time to pay you, even when your agent bills them with a 30 day voucher. We all hate it as bad as you do, (we all have bills to pay). Often they have 2-3 clients they bill to get you paid. Legitimate agents will do everything in their power to collect, but it has always been that way and will probably never change with the big national companies. They know they get a lot of people work so if you harass them too much the client will just use someone else.

7- Do not accept an audition unless you are 100% sure you can make it and be on time. Usually agents are limited in the time slots we have and we do not have time to replace you. We also give the casting director a list the night before and they will too be busy the next day of the audition for us to schedule someone else with them. They just figure you are unreliable.

8- No matter how you feel inside you have to portray self confidence when you are interviewed. Clients never hire people who let them know they are new at this or who are not a polished finished product.

9- Don't show it or be shocked if the audition is not what you visualized. A pro expects it to always be different and is ready to make quick on the spot adjustments. They almost want it to be tough because they know the amateur will let it affect them. Half of success in this business is
Advertisement
Being very adaptable on the fly. That is why it takes training and experience for many of the jobs.

10- Always just have fun with this business. Clients love to be around smiling, funny, happy people. Many actors, models get too serious when they audition because they feel the pressure.

11- If a client ask you what your rate is say, call my agent or let us know. That is our job and we will make sure to get documents signed if needed and get you the best rate possible for that type of project. Usually clients that do not want to initially go through agents will either never pay or low ball you or work in an unprofessional manner. Plus you are responsible to let the agency know about these projects.

12- If you need an agent research the Better Business Bureau, call your local Film Commission and ask casting directors who they use. If you live in the western U.S. except California contact the Craze Agency 801-438-0067, www.crazeagency.com

New auditions for models and actors!

Craze Agency is now looking for new faces for Utah and Idaho. We are booking many Promo as well as print modeling jobs! It looks like there are quite a few new films coming in and we want to get as many Actors and Extras booked. Of course we are keeping all of our represented talent first in mind for everything. If you are represented by us make sure you are watching our casting site and preparing yourself. Call us at 801-438-0067, 208-433-9511 or apply online at www.crazeagency.com

Talent tips

1- When you are booked for any job write down the director, producer, casting director, TV Network etc.. You need this info. for your resume. Talent will often call Craze a few months after the project and seek the info. It is hard for us to remember every detail because we literally book thousands of different jobs. Also remember the part you played. ( Also if it was extra work you must put that in a separate Extra category not acting). Always update your resume the day you do the project and get us copies. You would not believe the amount of work people lose out on because their resumes are not updated or we do not have any.
2- To insure payment when you are booked on a job please remember to bring appropriate ID and fill out all forms legibly and correctly. Also keep track of the dates you work and what job it was just in case.
3- Keep your look close to the photos we use to promote you, or you must update the photos. Clients really get upset when you do not match your photo or if we send you out to meet them and you have gained or lost weight, have longer hair or a different color we could lose that client permanently.
.4- Never say a negative word on set. Even among fellow actors or models. Even about other agencies. It never helps you or us in the long run! Let's take the high road even though many people and agencies don't.
5- A successful Modeling and Acting career is like any other career it takes time, persistence, dedication, knowledge, skill and patience!
6- Many National Clients take their sweet time to pay you. Even when we bill them with a 30 day voucher. We hate it as bad as you do(we all have bills to pay). We will do everything in our power to collect but it has always been that way and will probably never change with the big national companies. They know they get allot of people work so if you harass them too much they will just use someone else.
7- Do not accept an audition unless you are 100% sure you can make it and be on time. Usually we are limited in the time slots we have and we do not have time to replace you. We also give the casting director a list the night before and they will too be busy the next day of the audition for us to schedule someone else with them. They just figure you are unreliable.
8- When we send emails with age ranges Example 19-25 that usually means the client wants a 22 year old. Only respond if you fit the profile.Do not respond with things like I am 29 or 16 but look younger or older. Also sometimes we get talent that say things like I have been told I can play much younger or older. Sometimes this is true but trust us we know what you can play, we would be crazy not to send you if you fit the description and the client would allow us to do so.
8- Not many agencies we are aware of offer free initial training as many times as you like and who will set up various times throughout the year to have you read and be evaluated. Or offer extremely inexpensive workshops that are not mandatory. Take advantage, it will help you to succeed!
10- No matter how you feel inside you have to portray self confidence when you are interviewed. Clients never hire people who let them know they are new at this or who are not a polished finished product.
11- Don't show it or be shocked if the audition is not what you visualized. A pro expects it to always be different and is ready to make quick on the spot adjustments. They almost want it to be tough because they know the amateur will let it effect them. Half of success in this business is being very adaptable on the fly. That is why it takes raining and experience for many of the jobs.
12- Always just have fun with this business. Clients love to be around smiling , funny, happy people. Many actors, models get too serious when they audition because they feel the pressure.
13- If a client ask you what your rate is say call my agent at the Craze Agency or let us know and we will contact them. That is our job and we will make sure to get documents signed if needed and get you the best rate possible for that type of project. Usually clients that do not want to initially go through agents will either never pay or low ball you or work in an unprofessional manner. Plus you are responsible to let the agency know about these projects.
14-Try to read your Craze emails twice a day!!!! Many projects are last minute or only a day's notice. Some are on a first come first serve basis. Become very familiar with computers almost everyone in our industry is going that way.
15- We really do have your best interest in mind and appreciate your hard work, loyalty and referrals. We are going to continue to grow and are always trying our best to improve and serve you better. We want a long lasting positive relationship!
Sincerely,
Troy Lee

How to find a great modeling or talent agency

1-Call the Better Business Bureau in the State you live in and find out who is a member and there rating with the Bureau.

2-Contact your local film commission and see who they recommend.

3-Interview with at least three to five to different agencies and find the best fit possible. Be wary, if they make promises they probably are only after your money. Make sure you and your specific agent are on the same path for your future. Have realistic expectations.

4-Check IMDBPRO.com the leader in tracking film and T.V. acting and productiond and see the agencies booking credentials.

5-Contact local ad agencies, commercial photography studios, production companies and casting directors

. Ask them which agencies they work with.

6-See if they have a legit list of jobs they have done in the past and if they do do they fit your expertise and look.

7-Understand that every agency is different and some have a certain expertise in the industry, make sure that your skills match.

8-Be aware agencies are not miracle workers. You have to be exceptional and well skilled if clients are going to pay you to work in our industry.

9-Make sure they have all the licenses required by your City, and State.

10-Find out if they have personally represented any of there talent that have gone on to work in larger markets.

11-Ask if they can show you various check stubbs of wages there talent have made.

12-Find out there commission rate and get it in writing. The average agency in the United States charges 10% for extras or SAG actors and 15-20% for everything else.
